About WAKE Up and Read
WAKE Up and Read is a collaborative effort to engage and educate Wake County about the importance of childhood literacy and to increase access to literacy resources and opportunities for all children. This unique community collaboration includes education, civic, philanthropic, and business leaders from across Wake County, working together to help every child develop the skills for success in school and beyond. Sadly, many Wake County children have no books at home and arrive for kindergarten without the knowledge and experiences they need to excel. Our shared goal is to ensure that every child in Wake County is inspired, equipped, and empowered to read. To learn more, visit www.wakeupandread.org.
